About Ken I enjoy restoring old electronic equipment as I got started in this hobby at the early age of 12 in the mid 1960's growing up in the Rose City Park neighborhood of Portland. My Dad bought me an old Firestone console radio at the Salvation Army store for $2 and I cleaned it up and got it working. After asking my Dad to take me back there, I spent all my allowance on other radios dragging them home until my poor mother could take no more. My father being a high school teacher, soon brought me home a 1940's discarded electronics book where I read up on the subject of electronics and radio. After that, he bought me a radio kit and we had many lovable hours putting it together. From there the rest is history. I went into Amateur Radio and eventually went on to college and graduated from the University of Portland and became an Electronics and Communications Engineer. Thank you Dad for planting my seed...
